Rosatom’s team has won 14 medals at the World Construction Championship IV

Among them there were gold ones within the “Best Construction Site” nomination, which is considered the most challenging team category.

Based on the results of participation in the World Construction Championship IV, which ended on 4th of October in Ekaterinburg (as part of the 100+ TechnoBuild exhibition), Rosatom’s team won 14 medals: four gold medals, four silver medals, as well as six bronze medals.

In particular, the team took first place in what is considered the most difficult team nomination named “Best Construction Site”. ‘Gold’ in the individual nomination named “Pricing and Cost Estimating” was taken by Ms. Nadezhda Shteinikova, chief specialist of the cost estimation department of Titan-2 Concern, JSC; while Ms. Darya Baboshina, design engineer of Mayak Production Enterprise, has won the nomination named “Process Engineering”. 

In total, the team presented itself in 20 nominations (out of 34 team and individual nominations, including four nominations for participants with disabilities). Experts from Corporate Academy of Rosatom, ANO, supervised the process of team formation and preparation at all stages.  

The finalists, winners and guests of the Championship were greeted at the award ceremony by Mr. Irek Faizullin, Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation.

“Representatives from 17 participating countries were on site, 50,000 people attended the 100+ TechnoBuild exhibition and supported the Championship competitors as fans. It’s more than a lot; it is a record, to be more particular.”

“You are the most important secret of our country, the most important value, the most important asset. Today, professionalism has won, perseverance has won, friendship has won, the ability to support each other has won, because we all belong to one team!”

As part of the business program of the World Construction Championship, which included over 200 events, an educational track was held for youth activists and educational organizations supervised by Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation. It was organized by the Corporate Academy of Rosatom. More than 80 people took part in the event: foreign and Russian students, construction teams’ leaders, and Rosatom juniors. Based on the results of the events, the youth activists developed the manifesto named “Constructors of the New Time”. The document reflected the collective point of view on what should be the vectors of development of the architectural and construction industry in Russia, including development of youth construction communities to unlock the potential of students. The manifesto was presented to Mr. Alexander Lomakin, the First Deputy Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation, Mr. Mikhail Kiselev, the Chairman of the Board of the Russian Student Teams, and Ms. Yulia Uzhakina, the General Director of the Corporate Academy of Rosatom. 

The Engineering Division held a session named “Megaprojects: from personnel training to team building”. The session discussed popularization of construction and working professions, development of a mentoring system, an integrated personnel training system, tools for involvement of personnel to the construction industry, introduction of modern VR-technologies in the training of non-destructive testing specialists, and the use of digital technologies in design.   

In addition, Rosatom’s Engineering Division presented its stand within the exhibition space of the Championship, which informed the visitors about the company's activities and human resources potential, as well as about Multi-D technology allowing managing the life cycle of any complex engineering objects.

The event finished with a release on the city, which will host the World Construction Championship V. It will be Nizhny Novgorod.

The World Construction Championship IV is a large-scale event for representatives of the construction industry, designed to improve the qualifications of specialists and introduce advanced technologies into their professional activities. The Championship was established by the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation and Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation in February, 2020. The Championship was first held in 2021. Each year this event involves over 10 thousand people: industry professionals, students, and school pupils. The event is traditionally supported by Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation. The official founder of the Championship in 2024 is the Presidential Platform “Russia, the Opportunity Country”, Autonomous Non-Commercial Organization (ANCO); the co-founders are represented by the Government of the Sverdlovsk Region; the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation; Gazprom, PJSC; Russia’s Student Teams (RST) youth social agency; and RZD, PJSC.  

The contest named “Build a Dream” is organized among people with disabilities. The project is aimed at creating conditions for the integration of people with disabilities into professional activities. It is organized by NACEC (National Association of Consultant Engineers in Construction) and supported by Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation.

The total area of the 100+ TechnoBuild exposition was 40,000 square meters; 600 companies from 32 regions of the Russian Federation and four countries presented their stands, and the number of forum participants exceeded 40,000 people, including representatives of major construction industry organizations, engineers, developers, constructors, architects, manufacturers of materials and technologies, and representatives of the authorities and the scientific community.
